Wiley Wallaby Huckleberry Soft Licorice

 I grew up in Idaho and a family tradition when I was younger was to romp around the mountains in late July and pick enough huckleberries to fill an ice cream bucket so we could at least make a pie, some syrup, maybe some jam.  I didn't much care for it as a little, little kid. I couldn't figure out why anyone would want to eat them straight off the bushes because 1) fresh fruits and 2) you never fill up your bucket that way. I may have been a picky eater and fresh fruits were not my cup of tea. Neither was a cup of tea, but I digress. But in my teenage years, I realized that even in Idaho, not everyone was as mountainsy as my family and that huckleberries were not only a part of family tradition, they were part of my identity. San Pellegrino Pomegranate Aranciata

  I spent some time in Italy, and one of the great things about Italy is Aranciata. "Orangeade" as we might call it is what you would expect, like lemonade, but orange, and carbonated. Because carbonated is better than not, unless we're talking about milk. And while I'm not familiar with where the Saint Pilgrim name comes from, I am familiar with the San Pellegrino brand.  I had assumed it was named after Mt. Pellegrino near Palermo, but given that the HQ of this sparkling water company is in the north, I must be mistaken.  I was pretty stoked when this started showing up in the US about a decade ago. The orange or lemon flavors are staples, and I do love me some grapefruit or blood orange, too. If you know where to look you can find some chinotto on occasion of you like the flavor of boiled gym socks. The pomegranate, tangerine, and prickly pear additions are fairly recent.
