San Pellegrino Pomegranate Aranciata

I spent some time in Italy, and one of the great things about Italy is Aranciata. "Orangeade" as we might call it is what you would expect, like lemonade, but orange, and carbonated. Because carbonated is better than not, unless we're talking about milk.

And while I'm not familiar with where the Saint Pilgrim name comes from, I am familiar with the San Pellegrino brand.  I had assumed it was named after Mt. Pellegrino near Palermo, but given that the HQ of this sparkling water company is in the north, I must be mistaken.

I was pretty stoked when this started showing up in the US about a decade ago. The orange or lemon flavors are staples, and I do love me some grapefruit or blood orange, too. If you know where to look you can find some chinotto on occasion of you like the flavor of boiled gym socks. The pomegranate, tangerine, and prickly pear additions are fairly recent.

I picked this up at a popular convenience store stop through Montana.
This has good carbonation, it boasts of real orange and pomegranate juices and is quite refreshing. I must say, though, this tastes like liquid Smarties. The chalky American kind, not the international-everywhere-but-here Nestle version.
Don't get me wrong, I like Smarties. I just want expecting this to taste like that. Kind of like the pineapple banana Tampico is straight up Juicy Fruit of you at some cloves. But that's another story for another time.

In short:
Delicious rating: 8/10
Satisfy my tummy rating: 8/10
Buy it again?: If I can find it and it's reasonably priced. 7/10
